Just three months after joining Penguin Group in the microelectronics department, Lisa Vera, an enthusiast of decentralized technology, has already demonstrated that her vocation transcends data centers.

In addition to performing diagnostic and inspection functions on machinery used to mine Bitcoin, she has found in community education a space where she can share knowledge that she considers vital for the future.

"I learned about Bitcoin last year at an event I was invited to. From there, I began to understand the scope of its technology and became interested in it," explains Vera, who works at Penguin's data center.

That personal interest soon turned into a commitment to her community. Vera runs an educational project with children and young people in Ko'e Rory, a neighborhood located in the department of Alto Paraná, in eastern Paraguay, where she uses creative strategies to introduce financial and technological concepts in a practical and engaging way.

"I automatically focused on the community, on the needs of the community. On ensuring that the youngest members learn and gain knowledge about everything this technology has to offer," she says.

In a context where access to financial education is limited, Lisa discovered that the best way to reach young children was through simple examples.

"The truth is that it was a little difficult, because first I had to talk to them about how to earn money, how to save their pennies. I looked for a strategy, a technique for getting these little ones' attention," she says.

Through savings activities, buying and selling simulations, and talks tailored to their level of understanding, children learn not only what Bitcoin is, but also how it can become a tool for economic independence and financial sovereignty.

From the diagnosis of Bitcoin miners to social diagnosis

At Penguin Group, Lisa plays a key role in microelectronics: receiving equipment, diagnosing faults, referring it for repair, and final inspection:

"The microelectronics order involves receiving, diagnosing, repairing, and inspecting items before they are shipped. In other words, once a fault is detected, I start to refer it to the appropriate department for repair. After that process, it comes back to me, where I can check that everything is working correctly before it is shipped," she explains.

She applies this same methodical approach to her educational work. As with machines, Lisa identifies needs in the community, proposes solutions, and accompanies the processes until she is sure that knowledge has been translated into practical skills.

Lisa's project is not limited to basic Bitcoin education. Its goal is to foster a true circular economy in Ko'e Rory.

"My long-term project is to create that circular economy, to get everyone involved. And what I want is for every person, not necessarily those who have businesses, to start adopting Bitcoin and start seeing Bitcoin as a stable, secure currency, a currency where they can have their sovereignty, where they don't have to depend on other banks that normally place very strong limitations on them," said Vera.

With this vision, she seeks to make the community understand that access to new technologies is not only a privilege of large cities, but also an opportunity for local development.

Impact and projection

Lisa's work at Ko'e Rory reflects a growing trend in Latin America: the adoption of Bitcoin as an alternative for communities seeking independence from the traditional financial system.

Initiatives such as hers demonstrate that education is key to helping young people understand the advantages of a digital economy from an early age.

Her message is not only technical, but deeply human: it is about providing tools so that families can make informed financial decisions and plan for a future with greater autonomy.
