Paraguay will host a historic event: the country's first exclusive Bitcoin conference, entitled Accelerating Bitcoin, which will be held on September 15-16 in Asunción, at the modern Paseo La Galería complex
The choice of Paraguay is no coincidence. The nation combines unique factors: abundant and clean hydroelectric power thanks to the Itaipú dam, macroeconomic stability, low tax burden, and a legal framework favorable to foreign investment. All of this makes the country fertile ground for projects that align energy, industry, and finance with Bitcoin.
Bruno Vaccotti, director of public affairs at Penguin Group and one of the event organizers, explained the key difference between this event and others in the region: "We are not a trade show with booths or a parade of logos. We are a strictly curated, Bitcoin-only event focused on three areas that Paraguay needs today: energy, infrastructure, and quality financial education."
The proposal breaks with the traditional format of stages and selfies. Instead, closed technical roundtables, implementation workshops, and educational programs will be implemented from scratch. "Paraguay does not need speeches; it needs protocols and real contacts to transform energy into human potential," added Vaccotti.
In this sense, the "Bitcoin-only" label is not a minor detail. "In a world of noise, Bitcoin-only is a signal," he said. For the spokesperson, this definition avoids confusion and protects the country's reputation: "When you say 'Bitcoin,' you say clear rules and an open network, not promises of tokens with aggressive marketing."
From tactical to strategic
Vaccotti emphasizes that Accelerating Bitcoin will be a Paraguayan event for the world. According to him, the benefits will be threefold: from tactical to strategic.
He explains that, in the immediate future, Bitcoin workshops will be held for all levels, from beginners to advanced users. There will be modules on professional mining—electrical design, cooling, physical security, energy contracts, and audits—as well as training on secure operation, withdrawal policies, and verifiable accounting.
In the layer of bridges and opportunities, the event seeks to generate real deal flow, connecting suppliers, pools, and technical partners with proven track records. It will also open up opportunities for employability in technical areas such as data centers, cooling, DevOps, and compliance.
"It's about building local standards so that the Paraguayan ecosystem doesn't repeat mistakes that have already cost other countries dearly," Vaccotti stressed.

Finally, in terms of the country's vision, the project aims to keep energy at home: taking advantage of hydroelectric power to attract high-value computing, not only in Bitcoin but also in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
"Education that empowers, training teachers, entrepreneurs, journalists, technicians, and civil servants so that knowledge can circulate," explained the director.
Likewise, transparency and legality protocols will be presented for the use of seized equipment, proposing that it serve as public reserves of value and educational laboratories.
Government and private sector: open classroom
When asked about the relationship with authorities, Vaccotti assured that interest grows when the activity is translated into the language of energy and industry. "A data center stabilizes demand, purchases energy when there is a surplus, and can shut down when the system requires it. Cash flow is a globally liquid asset, with no local credit risk. And the value chain brings technical jobs, maintenance, logistics, security, metalworking, software, and auditing," he said.
The role of the organizers will be educational and proactive. "This event is an open classroom for regulators and public and private companies to see cases that work, figures, and model contracts," said Vaccotti.
Far from being a one-off event, Accelerating Bitcoin is designed to be an ongoing cycle. The agenda includes a large-scale annual edition, monthly clinics run by the local community, ongoing training programs, and permanent technical roundtables between the public and private sectors and civil society.
"Accelerating Bitcoin is not an event: it is a strategy. If we fix money, we fix incentives. And if we align energy, industry, and education around Bitcoin, Paraguay can transform its economic matrix in a short period of time," Vaccotti concluded.
An event to remember
The Accelerating Bitcoin event will take place in a 1,840-square-meter space with capacity for 1,400 people at the Paseo La Galería complex, which offers modular rooms, direct access to a five-star hotel, executive suites, a shopping center, a business center, and dining terraces ideal for networking.
At the conference, more than 25 experts from different continents will participate in master classes, thematic panels, and meetups. The content will focus on mining, financial privacy, decentralization, legal sovereignty, education, and Bitcoin adoption in emerging markets.
The first edition of Accelerating Bitcoin will mark a turning point in the country's history, placing Paraguay at the forefront of global financial decentralization. As Vaccotti said,"energy stays at home if we accelerate it with Bitcoin."
