The proposal has gained significant traction among governance participants, who see this move as a pragmatic step toward sustainable growth

Meta Pool DAO, the leading liquid staking solution on NEAR Protocol, reinforces its commitment to operational consistency and tokenholder value with the introduction of Proposal 24 (MPIP-24). This strategic governance move solidifies the mpDAO buyback and reward distribution model on an indefinite basis, ensuring a predictable and robust economic environment for all stakeholders.

From Experimentation to Permanence

Building on the success of previous governance milestones—specifically MPIP-15, MPIP-18, and the transformative MPIP-20—Proposal 24 seeks to remove expiration dates from the current reward mechanism. The community has signaled strong support for the "100% mpDAO" model introduced in MPIP-20, which uses all protocol rewards to purchase mpDAO from the open market and distributes them to users.

"MPIP-24 is about maturity and stability," stated the Meta Pool Governance Team. "By making the program indefinite, we avoid unnecessary governance overhead and provide our partners, liquidity providers, and voters with the certainty they need to plan for the long term."

How It Works

Under this reaffirmed framework, the protocol will continue to operate without structural changes, maintaining the simplified flow that has driven increased trading volume and deeper liquidity:

  • 100% Buyback: All protocol rewards are used to buy mpDAO.

  • 100% Distribution: Users receive rewards entirely in mpDAO.

  • Dynamic Split: The Time-Weighted Average Price (TWAP) mechanism remains the sole determinant for the ratio of liquid (unlocked) versus locked mpDAO distributed monthly.

Community Consensus

The proposal has garnered significant traction among governance participants, who view the move as a pragmatic step toward sustainable growth. By eliminating the need for repetitive extension votes, the DAO can focus its collective intelligence on innovation rather than maintenance.

This measure ensures that as Meta Pool enters 2026, the alignment between user incentives and protocol growth remains stronger than ever, supported by consistent buy pressure and active governance participation.
