Discover how ARK IA's Nelson Villamil helps Latin American businesses implement AI agents and automation to drive growth, overcome challenges, and humanize technology

In a business world obsessed with technology, true competitive advantage is no longer found in the tools themselves, but in the human strategy that deploys them.
To explore this idea, we sat down with Nelson Villamil, Commercial Manager at ARK IA. With over nine years of experience in corporate sales, Nelson specializes in consultative selling and building lasting client relationships. His perspective challenges the notion that automation replaces human interaction, arguing instead that it creates the space for deeper, more valuable human connections.
In this interview, Nelson shares how ARK IA is helping Latin American companies navigate digital transformation, overcome structural barriers, and implement intelligent automation that puts people at the center.
Interview with Nelson Villamil
Automation in Latin America, and especially in Colombia, is growing very fast. From your perspective, what is driving this boom?
Automation in Latin America, and particularly in Colombia, is growing very rapidly because companies have finally understood that digitizing is not optional; it's a necessity to compete.
Today, we see a strong push for three main reasons: first, the accelerated digital transformation following recent global events; second, the adoption of artificial intelligence, which allows us to automate not only repetitive tasks but also decision-making and customer service; and third, the pressure to reduce costs and operate more efficiently.
At ARK-IA, we see it every day: companies that previously relied on manual processes are now looking to automate sales, marketing, collections, and customer service with AI, because it directly impacts growth and profitability.
What specific technologies or automation tools are you seeing companies adopt most frequently right now?
Companies in Colombia and throughout Latin America are using AI agents and automation tools like n8n and Zapier to remove friction from their daily operations and free up their teams' time.
Today, we see these tools being used to integrate different systems without heavy development, automating flows that were previously done manually: from data capture and updates to notifications, validations, and synchronization between platforms.
With AI agents, companies are automating customer service, generating intelligent responses, analyzing conversations, and handling repetitive tasks that consume time. And with tools like n8n or Zapier, they connect CRMs, emails, WhatsApp, ERPs, and other systems so that processes run automatically and without errors.
The result is greater productivity, less rework, and teams focused on strategic initiatives rather than operational tasks.
What are the main challenges companies face when trying to implement this technology?
The main challenges that companies in Colombia and Latin America face when implementing automation and AI agents are not due to a lack of will, but rather structural barriers.
First, the availability of specialized technical talent remains limited: skills in AI, automation, and modern architectures are not yet present in all organizations.
Second, many companies have fragmented or legacy technology infrastructure, which makes it difficult to integrate new solutions without additional investments in modernization.
Third, the initial investment and the perception of cost can be a deterrent, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises that don't always see an immediate return.
And finally, security and data management are real challenges: organizations must ensure regulatory compliance and information protection when automating critical processes.
Overcoming these challenges requires a clear strategy, expert guidance, and a well-defined digital transformation roadmap.
Tell us about ARK-IA. What was the vision behind its creation?
ARK-IA was born with a very clear vision: to revolutionize the way companies in Latin America access and utilize artificial intelligence.
We realized that the market was full of tools, but few solutions actually worked in the day-to-day reality of businesses. Many companies wanted to automate sales, marketing, customer service, or collections, but they encountered technology that was complex, cold, or disconnected from their real-world needs.
That's why ARK-IA wasn't born just to offer software. It was born as a new beginning: to create intelligent systems that truly generate results, tailored to each client, and where the technology comes with something fundamental: support, closeness, and humanity.
We want companies not just to implement AI, but to find in us a strategic partner to transform their operations.
What is ARK-IA's main objective in the market?
Our main objective at ARK-IA is to lead the new era of intelligent automation in Latin America, especially in Colombia, through AI agents and business process automation.
We want companies in the region to be able to operate with more efficient, more human, and more scalable systems, automating key areas like sales, marketing, customer service, and collections.
Our approach is not just to implement technology, but to build real solutions that generate impact: agents that work 24/7, end-to-end connected processes, and strategic support so that AI becomes an accessible competitive advantage for any company.
In summary, we seek to democratize advanced automation and turn it into a growth engine for the region.
How does ARK-IA differ from simply using platforms like n8n or Zapier?
The main difference is that ARK-IA is not just an automation tool; it is a strategic partner that builds complete systems with artificial intelligence.
Platforms like n8n or Zapier are excellent for connecting applications, but they often require the client to design, configure, and maintain everything on their own.
At ARK-IA, we go further: we develop our own software, which gives us total freedom in configuration, scalability, and availability to adapt to each company and each industry.
We integrate AI agents, end-to-end automation, and key channels like WhatsApp and email, creating solutions ready to operate in sales, marketing, support, and collections.
And something very important: we work on enterprise-level infrastructure on AWS, guaranteeing security, performance, and quality in every implementation.
In short, we don't just deliver software… we deliver systems that work, with human support and real results.
