Fabiola Perez, Nexis Solutions Group CEO & digital nomad, shares how AI, strategic BPO partnerships, and aligning talent aspirations drive scalable growth in the remote work era

The most successful BPO providers in the modern, distributed work era are those who fundamentally understand both the corporate imperative for scalable efficiency and the human desire for meaningful, flexible work.

Fabiola Perez, embodying the unique dual perspective of CEO of Nexis Solutions Group and a digital nomad advocate, puts this hypothesis to the test.

In this interview, Perez dissects the challenges of managing global teams, leveraging AI as a "silent team member," and reveals how Nexis transcends traditional outsourcing by strategically aligning corporate growth ambitions with the evolving aspirations of a global, remote workforce.

Interview with Fabiola Perez

What are the biggest challenges you’ve faced when managing remote or outsourced teams across different time zones?

The biggest challenge is making everyone feel like they’re sitting at the same table, even if we’re spread across countries and time zones. For me, the key has been building clear processes and combining management tools with human, consistent communication. It’s not just about syncing schedules—it’s about aligning cultures, expectations, and work rhythms.

How has partnering with BPO firms supported your company’s growth, and what bottlenecks have you encountered?

Partnering with BPOs allowed us to scale faster and enter markets without having to open physical offices. The main bottleneck early on was the learning curve—understanding each partner’s way of working and aligning it with our quality standards. Once we bridged that gap, scalability became almost immediate.

In what ways has AI helped streamline remote team collaboration or reduce operational friction?

At Nexis, AI works like a silent team member—it automates repetitive tasks, organizes information, and provides real-time insights. That frees our people to focus on strategic and creative work. AI doesn’t replace talent, but it removes operational friction that used to eat up hours.

Have you seen a shift in remote work trends, particularly among digital nomads in the U.S., that has impacted your talent strategy?

Yes—the digital nomad profile has evolved. Many now want more stability and long-term projects, not just one-off gigs. That’s pushed us to offer hybrid models that combine flexibility with structure, attracting talent that values freedom but also seeks security.

What is Nexis Solutions Group? What sets Nexis Solutions Group apart from other BPO providers in the market?

Nexis is more than a BPO—we’re a strategic partner that blends human talent, optimized processes, and technology, including AI. What sets us apart is that we don’t just sell ‘man-hours.’ We deliver measurable results and true scalability, while protecting the experience for both clients and teams.
